Ingredients
1 medium banana (frozen slices make it extra creamy)
2 tbsp all-natural creamy peanut butter (no added sugar)
1 scoop (approx. 30g) vanilla or chocolate whey protein powder
1 cup unsweetened almond milk, oat milk, or dairy milk
½ cup low-fat cottage cheese or plain Greek yogurt (for extra creaminess)
1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder or a pinch of cinnamon (optional)
½ cup ice cubes (optional, if using a fresh banana)
Instructions
1. Prep the Banana: Slice your banana. Using a frozen banana gives the smoothie a thick, milkshake-like texture without needing extra ice.
2. Layer the Blender: Pour your milk base into a high-speed blender first. Adding the liquid first prevents the protein powder and peanut butter from getting stuck to the bottom of the blender cup.
3. Add the Rest: Drop in the banana slices, peanut butter, protein powder, and cottage cheese or Greek yogurt. Add cocoa powder or cinnamon if you want an extra layer of flavor.
4. Blend Until Silky: Secure the lid and blend on high speed for 45 to 60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth, frosty, and ultra-creamy. If it’s too thick, add a tiny splash of milk and blend for another 5 seconds.
5. Serve: Pour into a tall glass, garnish with a fresh banana slice if desired, and enjoy immediately!
