Essential Kitchen Equipment

Wide Skillet: Ideal for searing the seafood and evenly simmering the sauce.

Flat Spatula: To gently turn the fish pieces without breaking them.

Ingredients

500 g White fish fillets (such as cod or sea bass), cut into thick chunks

300 g Fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined

 2 tbsp Butter

 1 tbsp Olive oil

 3 cloves Garlic, finely minced

 1 cup Heavy cream

1/2 cup Seafood stock or chicken broth

1/4 cup Grated parmesan cheese (optional for extra thickness)

 1 tbsp Fresh lemon juice

1/2 tsp Seafood seasoning or Italian herbs

Salt and black pepper to taste

 Fresh chopped parsley for garnish

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Season the Seafood: Season the fish chunks and shrimp with salt, black pepper, and seafood seasoning.

2. Sear the Fish & Shrimp: Heat the olive oil and half of the butter in the skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the fish and shrimp for 2 to 3 minutes per side until the fish is golden and the shrimp are cooked through, then remove them and set them aside on a plate.

3. Make the Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and minced garlic, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant without burning.

4. Add Liquids: Pour in the seafood stock (or broth) and heavy cream, then stir in the fresh lemon juice and parmesan cheese (if using). Let the sauce simmer gently on low heat for 3 to 5 minutes until it thickens and becomes creamy.

5. Combine: Return the seared fish and shrimp back into the skillet over the creamy sauce, letting everything warm through and absorb the flavors for 2 minutes.

6. Serve: Garnish the top with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately while hot with white rice or crusty bread!
