Ingredients
1 large orange, thinly sliced
1 large lemon, thinly sliced
1 bunch fresh mint leaves
4 cups filtered water (or unsweetened green tea)
Instructions
1. Prep the Citrus: Thoroughly wash the orange and lemon under cold water to remove any debris from the rinds. Slice them into thin rounds, removing any visible seeds.
2. Awaken the Herbs: Take the fresh mint leaves and gently clap them between your hands or press them lightly with the back of a spoon. This releases the essential oils and aroma without making the leaves bitter.
3. Assemble the Infusion: Place the sliced oranges, lemons, and clapped mint leaves into a large pitcher or divide them evenly among individual glass jars.
4. Add Liquid: Pour the filtered water (or cooled green tea) over the ingredients, ensuring all the fruit and herbs are fully submerged.
5. Steep and Chill: Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let it steep for at least 2 to 3 hours, or ideally overnight, to allow the refreshing citrus and mint flavors to fully infuse.
6. Serve: Stir well before serving. Pour into a glass over ice and enjoy as a refreshing start to your morning. You can refill the pitcher with water one more time using the same fruit before replacing them.
