These savory, golden-brown bite-sized treats are a classic holiday party favorite, featuring a creamy cheese center topped with crispy bacon and fresh chives.
Ingredients
• 1 package small wonton wrappers or pre-made mini phyllo shells
• 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
• 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
• 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
• 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
• 1/4 cup ranch dressing (optional, for extra creaminess)
• Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Cups
• Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
• If using wonton wrappers, lightly grease a mini-muffin tin and press one wrapper into each cup, ensuring the edges stand up slightly to form a shell.
2. Mix the Filling
• In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and ranch dressing (if using).
• Stir in half of the crumbled bacon and half of the chopped chives.
• Add a pinch of salt and pepper to season the mixture.
3. Assemble the Appetizers
• Spoon about one tablespoon of the cheese mixture into each prepared shell.
• Top each cup with the remaining bacon crumbles to ensure a crispy finish.
4. Bake to Golden Perfection
• Place the tin in the oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the shells are golden brown.
5. Garnish and Serve
• Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the remaining fresh chives over the hot appetizers, as shown in image_19.png.
• Allow them to cool for 2–3 minutes before serving warm.
