Anti-Inflammatory Highlights

Fresh Tomatoes: Packed with lycopene, a potent antioxidant that supports cardiovascular health and helps counter systemic inflammation.

Fresh Basil: Contains bioactive essential oils such as eugenol, known for natural anti-inflammatory properties.

Garlic & Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Rich in heart-healthy monounsaturated fats and allicin to support cellular immunity.

Ingredients

1 loaf Italian bread or baguette (fresh, preferably), sliced lengthwise

2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

 2 garlic cloves, minced

 1½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded

 2 large tomatoes, sliced

 ½ tsp salt

 ¼ tsp black pepper

Fresh basil leaves, chopped or torn

Instructions

1. Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the bread halves cut-side up on the sheet.

2. Make Garlic Oil: In a small bowl, combine the olive oil (or melted butter) with the minced garlic. Brush the mixture evenly over the top of the bread.

3. Layer Cheese & Tomatoes: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the bread. Arrange the tomato slices in a single layer over the cheese.

4. Season: Sprinkle the salt and black pepper evenly over the tomato slices.

5. Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are crispy and golden brown. For extra color, pop under the broiler for the last 1–2 minutes.

6. Garnish & Serve: Remove from the oven, scatter fresh basil leaves generously over the top, slice into individual portions, and serve warm!
