It is a foolproof, one-pan meal that bakes to a bubbling, golden perfection.

Ingredients

 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed

 1 cup heavy cream

 1/2 cup sour cream

 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

 2 garlic cloves, minced

 1 tbsp butter

Seasonings: Salt, freshly cracked black pepper, and dried thyme (to taste)

Instructions

1. Prep and Preheat

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly grease a deep baking dish or a large oval casserole pan with non-stick cooking spray or a touch of extra butter.

2. Sear the Chicken

Pat the 4 chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. Melt the 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until they develop a beautiful golden-brown crust. Note: They do not need to be fully cooked through at this stage, as they will finish cooking beautifully in the oven.

3. Whisk the Decadent Cream Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine the 1 cup of heavy cream, 1/2 cup of sour cream, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt, pepper, and thyme. Whisk vigorously until the mixture is completely smooth and uniform.

4. Assemble the Layered Bake

Scatter the 2 cups of trimmed green beans evenly across the bottom of your prepared baking dish. Arrange the seared chicken breasts directly on top of the green beans, spacing them out beautifully just like the layout shown in image_15.png.

5. Sauce and Cheese Layering

Pour the garlicky cream mixture evenly over the chicken and green beans, ensuring everything is well coated. Sprinkle the 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the entire dish, focusing heavily on the tops of the chicken breasts to create a rich cheese crown.

6. Bake to a Bubbling Golden Brown

Place the dish into the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes. The casserole is ready when the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F), the green beans are perfectly tender-crisp, and the cheese on top is bubbling and intensely golden brown, matching the presentation in image_15.png. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving hot.
