Ingredients

 1 medium raw beetroot, thoroughly washed, peeled, and chopped

 2 large carrots, thoroughly washed and chopped

 1 large sweet apple (like Gala or Honeycrisp), cored and chopped

 1/2 inch fresh ginger root (adds a wonderful zesty kick)

 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

 1/2 cup cold water (only if using a standard blender)

Instructions

1. Prep the Fresh Produce

Thoroughly wash your beetroot, carrots, and apple. Peel the beetroot to avoid any earthy bitterness, but feel free to leave the skins on the carrots and apple for extra nutrient value. Chop everything into small, uniform chunks as shown in the blue bowl on the left side of the image.

2. Process the Ingredients

 If using a Juicer: Simply feed the beetroot chunks, carrots, cored apple, and fresh ginger through your juicer machine. Let the vibrant, dark red liquid collect in a pitcher.

 If using a Blender: Place all the chopped produce and the fresh ginger into a high-speed blender. Pour in 1/2 cup of cold water to help the blades catch. Blend on high for 1 to 2 minutes until completely smooth and pureed.

3. Strain for a Smooth Finish

If you used a blender, pour the thick puree through a fine-mesh strainer, nut milk bag, or cheesecloth over a large bowl. Press down firmly with a spoon to extract all the rich, smooth juice, separating it from the heavy vegetable pulp.

4. Balance with Citrus
