- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, ensuring not to burn the garlic.
- Sprinkle in the paprika and cayenne pepper (if using), stirring well to coat the onion and garlic.
- Pour in the seafood stock and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let it cook for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Reduce the heat to low, then add the heavy cream. Stir to combine and let it cook gently for another 5 minutes.
- Carefully add the shrimp and lump crab meat to the pot. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
