Cheese Balls Recipe (Low-Carb / Zero-Carb Option)

Ingredients

Cheese Filling

  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar or parmesan
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese, softened
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

Coating

  • ½ cup almond flour (low-carb option)
    or
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (not zero-carb)

Instructions

  1. Mix the filling
    • In a bowl, combine mozzarella, cheddar/parmesan, cream cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Mix until fully combined (use hands if needed).
  2. Shape
    • Roll mixture into small balls (about 1 tablespoon each).
  3. Coat
    • Roll each ball lightly in almond flour (or breadcrumbs).
  4. Bake
    • Preheat oven to 200°C / 400°F
    • Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
    • Place balls evenly spaced.
    • Bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden and crispy.

  5. OR Air Fry
    • Air fry at 190°C / 375°F for 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway.
  6. Serve
    • Let cool slightly (cheese is HOT inside 😋)
    • Serve plain or with garlic yogurt dip, marinara, or ranch.

Tips

✔ For extra crispiness, spray lightly with oil

✔ Add chili flakes for heat

✔ Works great with parmesan only for firmer balls

✔ Store in fridge up to 3 days & reheat in air fryer
