Ingredients (makes ~8 rolls)
For the dough
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp instant yeast
- ¾ cup (180 ml) warm milk
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil or melted butter
For the filling & topping
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella (or mozzarella + cheddar mix)
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Optional: garlic powder or Italian seasoning
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Make the dough
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast
- Add warm milk and oil
- Mix until a soft dough forms
- Knead 5–7 minutes until smooth (or mix well with a spoon if sticky)
➡️ Cover and let rise 45–60 minutes, until doubled
2️⃣ Shape the rolls
- Divide dough into 8 equal balls
- Flatten each ball slightly
- Place 1–2 tablespoons cheese in the center
- Seal tightly and roll into smooth balls
3️⃣ Second rise
- Place rolls seam-side down on a lined baking tray
- Cover and rest 15–20 minutes
4️⃣ Top & bake
- Brush tops with melted butter
- Sprinkle extra cheese on top
- Optional: sprinkle garlic powder or herbs
Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 18–22 minutes, until golden and bubbly
