Ingredients
- 3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
- 1½ cups (360 ml) warm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar (optional, helps yeast)
- 2 tsp instant dry yeast
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for softer crumb)
- Optional topping: dried herbs, garlic, or seeds
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Mix
- In a large bowl, add flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.
- Pour in warm water.
- Mix with a spoon until a sticky dough forms (no kneading!).
2️⃣ First Rise
- Cover the bowl with a towel or plastic wrap.
- Let it rise 1–2 hours until doubled in size.
3️⃣ Prepare Pan
- Grease a loaf pan or round baking dish.
- Lightly flour your hands and gently shape the dough.
- Place it in the pan.
4️⃣ Second Rise
- Cover and let rise 30 minutes.
- Sprinkle herbs or garlic on top if using.
5️⃣ Bake
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake 35–40 minutes until golden brown.
- Tap the bottom — it should sound hollow.
6️⃣ Cool
- Let cool at least 15 minutes before slicing.
