Ingredients
Bread batter:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup melted butter (or oil)
Cheese filling:
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella (or mozzarella + cheddar mix)
- 1 egg
- ½ tsp salt
- Optional: pinch of garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven
Set oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease or line a loaf pan. - Make the batter
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs, yogurt, milk, and melted butter.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed (don’t overmix).
- Prepare cheese filling
Mix cream cheese, shredded cheese, egg, salt, and garlic powder until smooth. - Assemble the loaf
- Pour half the bread batter into the pan
- Spread all the cheese filling evenly
- Cover with the remaining batter
- Bake
Bake for 45–50 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out mostly clean (cheese may be slightly gooey). - Cool slightly & slice
Let rest 10–15 minutes before slicing for that perfect melt.
