Ginger Water (Ginger Detox Drink)

Ingredients (Makes ~1.5 liters / 6 cups)

  • 2 liters water (about 8 cups)
  • 60–80 g fresh ginger (one large hand-sized piece), sliced or grated
  • 1–2 lemons (optional), sliced or juiced
  • 1–2 tbsp honey (optional, add after cooling)
  • Optional: 1 cinnamon stick or a few mint leaves

Preparation (Method)

  1. Wash and slice/grate the ginger (no need to peel if it’s clean).
  2. Bring the water to a boil.
  3. Add ginger, reduce heat, and simmer 10–15 minutes.
  4. Turn off heat and let it steep 10 minutes.
  5. Strain into a bottle/jug.
  6. Add lemon juice/slices (and cinnamon/mint if using).
  7. Let it cool. If using honey, add after it cools (so it keeps its flavor).
