4-Ingredient Chicken Cordon Bleu Braid

Ingredients

1 can Refrigerated Crescent Dough: (Or a sheet of Puff Pastry).

1 lb Cooked Chicken Breast: Sliced or shredded (Rotisserie chicken works great).

6-8 Slices of Ham: Thinly sliced deli ham.

6-8 Slices of Swiss Cheese: (Or shredded Mozzarella/Provolone for extra melt).

• Optional: 1 Egg (for egg wash) and a pinch of Garlic Salt.

Preparation Method

1. Prepare the Base: Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Unroll the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil. If using crescent dough, press the seams together to form one large rectangle.

2. Layer the Filling: In the center third of the dough (lengthwise), layer the sliced chicken, then the ham, and top it with plenty of cheese.

3. The Braid: Cut 1-inch wide strips along both sides of the filling. Fold the strips over the filling at an angle, alternating sides to create a “braided” look.

4. Finish: If you have an egg, whisk it and brush it over the top of the dough for a golden, shiny crust. Sprinkle a little garlic salt or dried parsley on top if desired.

5. Bake: Bake for 15–20 minutes or until the pastry is deep golden brown and the cheese is bubbling out of the sides.

6. Serve: Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing into thick pieces.
