Ingredients
• 1 lb (450g) Imitation crab meat (flakes or chunks, chopped into bite-sized pieces)
• 1/2 cup Celery, finely diced (for crunch)
• 1/4 cup Red onion or green onions, finely minced
• 1/2 cup Mayonnaise (use a high-quality brand for best flavor)
• 1 tablespoon Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
• 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (or a pinch of paprika and celery salt)
• 1 teaspoon Dried dill or fresh parsley, chopped
• Salt and black pepper to taste
Preparation
1. Prep the Crab: If your imitation crab is in long sticks, chop them into small, uniform pieces. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
2. Add Vegetables: Toss in the finely diced celery and onions.
3. Make the Dressing: In a small separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, and dill.
4. Combine: Pour the dressing over the crab mixture. Fold gently with a spatula until everything is evenly coated.
5. Season: Taste and add salt or extra pepper if needed.
6. Chill (Important): Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30–60 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld together and ensures the salad is served properly chilled.
