Ingredients
• 2 lbs beef stew meat or sirloin tips (cut into bite-sized cubes)
• 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
• 1 packet dry onion soup mix
• 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
• Optional: 1/2 cup beef broth or water (for more gravy)
Preparation
1. Combine: Place the beef cubes and sliced mushrooms into the slow cooker.
2. Add Flavor: In a small bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and the dry onion soup mix together. If you want a thinner gravy, stir in 1/2 cup of beef broth or water.
3. Pour: Pour the mixture over the beef and mushrooms. Stir gently to ensure all the meat is coated.
4. Slow Cook: Cover with the lid and cook on Low for 7–8 hours or on High for 3–4 hours. The meat should be tender enough to fall apart with a fork.
5. Serve: Give it a final stir to combine the natural juices with the gravy.
6. Pairing Idea: Serve this over a bed of buttery mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or steamed rice to soak up the savory gravy.
