Ingredients
- 1 box puff pastry, thawed (2 sheets)
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup green onions or bell peppers, finely chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cumin (optional but amazing)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1 egg + 1 tbsp milk (egg wash)
- 1 tbsp oil
Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the filling
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add onion and cook until soft.
- Add garlic and ground beef.
- Cook until browned and fully done.
- Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and cumin.
- Stir in green onions or peppers.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
2️⃣ Prepare the pastry
- Roll out puff pastry sheets.
- Cut each sheet into rectangles or squares.
3️⃣ Assemble
- Place a spoonful of beef filling in the center.
- Top with shredded cheese.
- Fold pastry over to form pockets.
- Press edges with a fork to seal.
4️⃣ Brush & bake
- Place on a lined baking tray.
- Brush tops with egg wash.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18–22 minutes, until golden and puffed.
