Easy Butter Cookies (Tea-Time Recipe)

Ingredients

  • 200 g (¾ cup + 2 tbsp) unsalted butter, softened
  • 100 g (½ cup) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 260 g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cream butter & sugar
    In a bowl, beat the softened butter with powdered sugar until light and creamy.
  2. Add flavor
    Mix in vanilla extract.
  3. Combine dry ingredients
    In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Make the dough
    Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Shape cookies
    Roll dough into small balls, flatten slightly, or cut with a cookie cutter.
  6. Bake
    • Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F)
    • Bake for 12–15 minutes until bottoms are lightly golden (tops stay pale).
