No-Knead, No-Egg, No-Butter Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups (360 ml) warm water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional, helps yeast)
  • 2 tsp instant dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for softer crumb)
  • Optional topping: dried herbs, garlic, or seeds

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Mix

  • In a large bowl, add flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.
  • Pour in warm water.
  • Mix with a spoon until a sticky dough forms (no kneading!).

2️⃣ First Rise

  • Cover the bowl with a towel or plastic wrap.
  • Let it rise 1–2 hours until doubled in size.

3️⃣ Prepare Pan

  • Grease a loaf pan or round baking dish.
  • Lightly flour your hands and gently shape the dough.
  • Place it in the pan.

4️⃣ Second Rise

  • Cover and let rise 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle herbs or garlic on top if using.

5️⃣ Bake

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bake 35–40 minutes until golden brown.
  • Tap the bottom — it should sound hollow.

6️⃣ Cool

  • Let cool at least 15 minutes before slicing.
