Custard-Style French Toast (The Dangerous One!)

Ingredients

• 4 thick slices brioche or challah bread

• 2 large eggs

• ½ cup milk or heavy cream

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

• 1 tsp sugar

• Pinch of salt

• 2 tbsp butter

• Maple syrup or honey (for serving)

• Fresh strawberries & blueberries (optional)

1. Make the custard

Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, sugar, and salt until smooth.

2. Soak the bread

Dip bread slices into the custard, letting them soak well (but not fall apart).

3. Cook

Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.

Cook each slice 2–3 minutes per side until deep golden and custardy inside.

4. Serve

Stack them up, pour warm maple syrup over the top, and add fresh berries.
