Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

- Cook the filling
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned.
Add onion and garlic; cook until softened. - Add flavor
Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Pour in beef broth and simmer 5 minutes. - Add veggies
Stir in peas and carrots. Cook another 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat. - Assemble
Spread the beef mixture into a greased baking dish.
Spoon mashed potatoes evenly over the top.
Sprinkle with cheddar cheese if using. - Bake
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes, until bubbly and golden. - Serve
Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
